What is the Slip ring and the relation transmission technologies?


The conductive slip ring belongs to the electrical contact sliding connection device. It is also called the collector ring, the rotary joint, the slip rings, the commutator, the electrical coil, the swivel and the traveller. It is the precision components that can realize power, signal and data transmission between two relative rotating structures. And mainly composed of elastic material brush, sliding contact surface material -conducting ring, insulation materials, precision bearing, combined bracket and dust cover,etc.


The brushed are generally made of precious metal alloy material with good electrical conductivity, they are symmetrical double contact with the conductive ring grooves and the electrical slip ring in "π" type. The elastic pressure of the brushes and the sliding contact of the conductive ring grooves are used to transmit signals and currents. It can be widely used in Generators, security monitoring, factory automation robots, instrumentation, chemical metallurgy, medical, ships, aerospace, military equipment, engineering construction and other electrical equipment.

Current slip ring mainly has the following three transmission technologies

The first is Composite brush block technology. Copper brushes, carbon brushes, graphite/silver/molybdenum brushes are generally used.

The second is use precious metal alloy monofilament technology, such as gold and nicke alloy etc.

The third is Fiber brush technology. Align the individual wires and pack them into a metal tube, In this design, the brush is scattered and the end is attached to the groove on the surface of the ring.
